GTA 6 fans have assembled a detailed reconstruction of Leonida by comparing landmarks across Rockstar’s trailers, screenshots and location pages. Some recent versions also use information claimed to come from leaked pre-release material. The result may be the clearest community estimate yet, but it is not Rockstar’s official GTA VI map.
That distinction is essential. Rockstar has confirmed the names and character of six major areas—Vice City, Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia and Mount Kalaga—without publishing a complete overhead map showing their exact scale, borders or road network.
What is the GTA 6 fan map?
The reconstruction is the product of a long-running mapping community rather than one official release. Contributors examine the direction of skylines, road signs, coastlines, bridges, mountain profiles and recurring buildings. They then compare different camera positions to estimate where each scene belongs.
It is closer to collaborative geographic research than a conventional illustrated concept. When the same tower or road appears from several viewpoints, mappers can triangulate a likely position. A visible causeway may connect two estimated landmasses; a distant skyline can suggest the orientation of a district.
None of that turns an estimate into confirmation. Camera lenses compress distance, trailers can use edited sequences, and Rockstar may change roads or scenery before release.
The six regions Rockstar has officially confirmed
Vice City
Vice City is the neon-lit urban centre of Leonida and the setting most clearly established in official material. Rockstar presents it as a large coastal metropolis with beaches, nightlife, dense streets and surrounding waterways.
Leonida Keys
The Keys are a chain of tropical islands connected by long roads and bridges. Official descriptions link Jason’s recent life to the area and show marinas, low-rise settlements, boats and open water.
Grassrivers
Grassrivers is Leonida’s wetland region. Its official imagery establishes marshes, wildlife, airboats and scattered communities. Fans generally place it inland from the southern urban and island areas, but its precise outline remains unconfirmed.
Port Gellhorn
Rockstar depicts Port Gellhorn as a faded coastal city shaped by cheap tourism, motels and an economy past its peak. The fan map attempts to position its roads and shoreline by matching repeated structures across official scenes.
Ambrosia
Ambrosia represents Leonida’s industrial interior, with heavy industry and the Allied Crystal sugar refinery prominent in Rockstar’s material. Its relationship to surrounding rural roads is visible only in fragments.
Mount Kalaga
Mount Kalaga National Park is the clearest sign that GTA VI extends beyond flat, Florida-inspired terrain. Rockstar mentions hunting, fishing and off-road trails in the northern wilderness. Community maps use mountain views to infer its broad direction, not a verified boundary.
How trailers become map coordinates
Community mappers typically work with several types of evidence:
- Repeated landmarks: towers, bridges, hotels and signs visible from multiple angles.
- Road geometry: curves, junctions, lane directions and causeways that can be aligned between scenes.
- Sun and skyline direction: clues that suggest camera orientation, although these can be unreliable in edited footage.
- Real-world parallels: similarities between Leonida and Florida geography that help generate hypotheses.
- Official location descriptions: the six named regions and their stated characteristics.
The strongest placements are supported by several independent official images. Areas built from one distant background or a real-world resemblance deserve much lower confidence.
Where leaks enter the reconstruction
According to Frandroid and other reports, newer fan maps incorporate details attributed to leaked GTA VI material as well as official marketing. We are not reproducing or linking to leaked game files. Their authenticity, date and relationship to the final build cannot be independently verified from Rockstar’s public information.
Pre-release maps also change. Even genuine development footage may show placeholder roads, unfinished terrain or content later removed. A leaked overhead image could improve a fan reconstruction while still failing to match the retail game.
Is this the complete GTA 6 map?
No. The fan project is a hypothesis that becomes more detailed as new material appears. Rockstar has not confirmed its outer coastline, total playable area, full road network or exact measurements.
Claims that Leonida is a specific multiple of GTA V’s map should therefore be treated cautiously. A larger outline does not automatically mean more playable land, and map density matters as much as surface area. Interiors, vertical spaces, waterways and activity distribution can change how large an open world feels.
What the reconstruction gets right
The project is valuable because it organizes scattered official clues into one visual model. It helps players understand that GTA VI extends well beyond Vice City and includes islands, wetlands, industrial towns, older coastal communities and mountain wilderness.
It also documents its own uncertainty. The best community maps distinguish officially named locations from observed landmarks and estimated connections. That is more useful than presenting every road or district as settled fact.
What could change at launch
- Roads and bridges may be added, removed or repositioned.
- Region boundaries may differ from the community estimate.
- Trailer scenes may come from builds with older geography.
- Some visible land may be decorative rather than playable.
- Rockstar may conceal additional areas until release.
GTA VI is officially scheduled for November 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The final in-game map will be the first authoritative test of the community reconstruction.

FAQ
Has Rockstar released the full GTA 6 map?
No. Rockstar has published trailers, screenshots and pages for six named regions, but not a complete official overhead map.
Which GTA 6 locations are official?
Rockstar has named Vice City, Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia and Mount Kalaga.
Is the fan-made Leonida map accurate?
Parts based on repeated official landmarks may be close, but the overall coastline, scale, road network and many placements remain estimates until the game is released.
Does the reconstruction use GTA 6 leaks?
Some recent community versions reportedly use leaked material alongside trailers and screenshots. Such material is unverified and may represent an unfinished build.
Is Leonida bigger than GTA 5’s map?
Rockstar has not published official area measurements. Comparisons based on fan maps are estimates and should not be presented as confirmed size figures.
